Plate pack maintenance, Upon unit disassembly, we determine the precise cleaning and treatment process needed. Plates are pressure washed and rinsed, then subjected to either a hot caustic stripping and/or a manual procedure for gasket and scale removal. They are then subjected to immersion in a variety of chemicals, compatible with the plate material, to remove the balance of any foulants. Cleaned plates are 100% visually inspected and a sampling of 10% is dye-penetrant tested for cracks, pin holes or material failure. The plate is sprayed with dye and inspected to locate any pinhole leaks or cracks. Following this procedure, plates are again pressure washed and rinsed to remove all traces of the dye Plates are regasketed with high quality replacement gaskets, using a softer, non-hardening, OEM-spec gasket adhesive, which does not require heat curing. This gluing method allows for easy field repair in the future should it ever be required. Our personnel are available to come on site to investigate leak problems and determine the required action to minimize downtime.
